Research on Vehicle Model Recognition Algorithm Based on Morphological Image Processing

In view of the demand for automatic statistics of traffic flow in intelligent transportation,a vehicle model recognition system based on morphological image processing algorithm is designed in this paper, which collects images by camera, binarizes filtering processing, extracts vehicle contour by Sobel operator, calculates vehicle width to length ratio, and forms a learning sample of vehicle model features through morphological processing, and learns by BP neural network training. After testing, it can realize the recognition of large, medium and small vehicle models, and the whole system shows good stability and recognition effect.
