Novel Extended Thinned Coprime Arrays With Increased Uniform Degrees of Freedom

The paper proposes two novel extended thinned co-prime arrays (ETCAs) with multiple assembled subarrays to increase the number of uniform degrees of freedom (uDOFs). The consecutive range of the difference coarray and the uDOFs of the two ETCAs are indicated, respectively. Additionally, the optimal ETCA with the largest uDOFs is presented. Simulation results evaluate the direction of arrival (DOA) estimation performance of the ETCAs.
