Optimized Design of a 32-Core Heterogeneous Fiber for Nonuniform Delay Line Applications

This study presents a 32-core heterogeneous fiber design based on optimization algorithms. The designed fiber exhibits chromatic dispersion values for each core, ranging from 7 to 22 ps/km/nm, tailored specifically for microwave applications based on nonuniform delay lines. The proposed fiber is analyzed through simulations for three applications: a bandpass filter, a classical Hilbert transformer, and a phase encoder. Additionally, the behavior of these applications under the influence of group delay errors is analyzed to prove the impact of potential degradation factors.
