Design and Implementation of 32-Channel C-Band Digital Transmitter/Receiver Module

This paper describes the successful development of a modular, integrated, high-efficiency, and multi-functional 32-channel C-band digital transmitter/receiver (T/R) module based on C-band high-power GaN power amplifier chips and system-in-package (SIP) technology. The signal processing board uses a field-programmable gate array as its core device in combination with high-speed analog-to-digital converter (ADC) and digital-to-analog converter (DAC) devices, and by using the JESD204B high-speed interface, functions including ADC synchronization, DAC synchronization, and data transmission synchronization have been designed and implemented. The module has functions that include independent control of transmission and reception, numerical control of phase shifting and attenuation, and module self-checking. Test results indicate that the T/R module offers advantages such as a wide bandwidth, high output power, low fabrication cost, and great universality for applications.
