Assessment of Higher Education Academic Program Outcomes and Improvement of Quality Assurance Criteria

The Mongolia is one of largest country (19th place in the world) with almost one of lowest population (3 504 741 by statistic of 2023) in the world. More than 13% of the population is young people between 20 and 29 years old. In dependent on family background Mongolian families are very much support education of their children. It confirms number of higher educations in country. It confirms with fact that 145 345 students are studying in the 88 higher education institutions for bachelor, master and doctoral levels. To fulfill of quality requirements of the higher education system Mongolian government requests the universities and their study programs to be accredited by national and international level. In 2022, 53 programs were pre-accredited, with 45 qualifying for special licenses. This involved 130 experts working on 53 programs in 10 professional fields. The study employed both quantitative and qualitative methods to evaluate 25 undergraduate engineering programs from 2018 to 2022, using seven accreditation criteria and 26 sub-criteria. Results showed good internal consistency in research criteria (Cronbach's Alpha equal 0.782). Positive correlations were found between program goals and content, teacher resources, and student evaluations for quality assurance, indicating effective alignment with development and management in quality assurance practices.
