Transmission Characteristics of Multiplexed OAM Beams in Time-Varying Non-Kolmogorov Turbulence

Orbital angular momentum (OAM) of light has been used in optical communication to improve the capacity and spectral rate. However, OAM beams are distorted by atmospheric turbulence in free-space optical (FSO) communication link. In this paper, a propagation model of multiplexed OAM beams in time-varying non-Kolmogorov atmospheric turbulence is established here. Different from the time-varying Kolmogorov atmospheric turbulence model which only considers the ideal atmospheric turbulence, we consider the turbulence parameters of different atmospheres and the temporal and spatial variation in FSO communication link. Then the influences of time-varying non-Kolmogorov turbulence on characteristics of OAM beams are analyzed from the perspective of space, time domain and theoretical characteristic parameters of non-Kolmogorov turbulence.
