Monitoring Health Traffic Participants Using a IoT Smart Band Integrated with a Data Collection Platform Secured with Blockchain

This work presents the development of a system aimed at providing early detection of critical heart conditions in traffic participants with cardiovascular diseases. The primary goal is to prevent traffic incidents by continuously monitoring vital signs such as heart rate heart rate (BPM) and blood oxygen level (SpOz). The proposed system represents the first medical approach of the CD data collection platform (CD Platform), integrated with an IoT Fitbit smart band (FSB), specifically designed to collect and secure health data. This prototype system provides real-time tracking and transmission of vital signs to the CD Platform, where the data is stored securely using blockchain technology to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of sensitive medical information. The collected data is used further to analyze the relationship between BPM, SpOz and traffic behavior patterns, ultimately aiding in the development of strategies and technologies to prevent incidents in cardiac patients. Preliminary results from this prototype demonstrate that the system successfully detects significant variations in BPM and SpOz were observed across different activity modes (walking, running, and driving). These findings suggest the potential of this system to be further developed as a real-time medical alert tool, enhancing patient safety
