Quality of Experience Assessment of Over the Top Services

In this paper, we use a subjective quality of experience (QoE) approach to examine the video's startup loading time, quality, and how long it remains on the selected OTT services’, such as YouTube, Netflix, Vimeo, and Daily Motion. During this research, five videos were selected having l080p HD resolution for each OTT-Service and QoE measured by Mean Opinion Score as recommended by lTV, the questionnaire provided to the participants. In contrast, QoS includes the parameters such as startup time and resolution, upgrade and de-grade of resolution and the time (in Seconds) recorded when the upgrade/degrade event occurred according to available internet bandwidth. The results show that N etflix loads video faster than other HTTP-OTT services. The YouTube and Dailymotion video quality is low compared to Vimeo, though Vimeo's initial loading time is compared to other OTT services.
