Abstract:
The article presents a new development by the Electrical Drive Research and Technical Center “Vector” in the field of control system design for mining dump trucks with a load capacity of 90 to 240 tons. Its distinctive features compared to other systems available on the Russian market include the ability to ensure high reliability, high-quality, and energy- efficient control of all operating modes of the dump truck, both with and without the use of a speed sensor on the traction motor shaft. Additionally, it offers high maintainability, independence from imported components for key power elements, and advanced monitoring, diagnostics, and service functions based on modern information technologies. The presented characteristics of the dump truck control system were confirmed by the results of bench tests, factory tests (at the OJSC “BELAZ”), and operational tests as part of a 90-ton mining dump truck. The results of the electric transmission tests under real operating conditions are presented, along with its new functional capabilities, features of the control system's design, and the organization of its service maintenance.
