Development of a Device for non-Invasive Measurement of Blood Glucose Levels Based on a Laser-Induced non-Enzymatic Graphene Sensor

One of the promising methods for determining the amount of glucose in human blood is the determination of glucose by exhaled gases or biological fluids of a person. For this analysis, non-enzymatic glucose sensors are used, which, unlike enzymatic analogs, have high sensitivity, they are cheaper, more stable and have low power consumption. This allows them to be used both in laboratory conditions and in wearable electronics. Due to the low concentrations of glucose in human tissues and biological fluids, an important criterion for sensors is high sensitivity for detecting the smallest trace amounts of glucose. One of the effective methods is the use of bimetallic systems or three-dimensional porous structures of laser-induced graphene on flexible polymer substrates. Using these sensors, a structural and functional diagram was designed and, based on it, a prototype of a wearable device for continuous glucose monitoring with the ability to transmit data was developed.
