Synchronized Stability Study of Grid Forming Converter based on Equilibrium Point Criterion

With the establishment of new type power network, the integration of a substantial amount of new energy sources and a significant presence of power electronic devices have fundamentally altered the operational traits of the power network. Firstly, A mathematical model of grid forming converter is developed to assess the transient process for sync stabilization of grid forming converter, and the equilibrium point criterion is proposed based on the power angle characteristic equation to determine the equilibrium point of the grid forming converter's stable operation range, which lays a foundation for the improvement of safety and stability of new type power network under the condition of large disturbances. Finally, the findings of this paper are verified by simulation.
