Design and Implementation of FPGA-Based Data Exchange Node for CAN-Ethernet

CAN bus is highly respected in embedded systems for its high-speed communication, excellent error correction capability, ease of control, flexible expansion and cost-effectiveness. Ethernet, as a mainstream LAN protocol, features high-speed data exchange and long-distance transmission. The combination of the two can meet the needs of remote real-time monitoring and greatly improve the monitoring efficiency. The FPGA-based CAN-Ethernet data exchange node design proposed in this paper achieves bidirectional communication between CAN and Ethernet, and supports concurrent interaction between multiple computers and multiple CAN terminal acquisition nodes. The design selects UDP protocol to achieve remote monitoring of CAN data.
