Multi-Parent Crossover Strategy based African Vulture Optimization for Safer Emergency Evacuations in Optimal Placement of Exit Doors

The optimal placement of exit doors for the evacuations of safer emergency emphases on strategically locating departure during emergencies to reduce evacuation time and increase safety. By applying crowd simulation approach assists to determine passenger behavior and movement in different scenarios and identifies potential bottlenecks. However, ensuring safe and effective emergency evacuations in crowded scenes rises from suboptimal placement of exit door that results in congestion and enhanced times. This research proposes Multi-Parent Crossover Strategy based African Vulture Optimization (MPCS-AVO) to increase placement of exit doors for safer emergency evacuations. In traditional AVO, the MPCS mechanism is incorporated to enhance exploitation stage which generates solutions with more varieties and increase solution quality. The proposed MPCS-AVO represents the exit door’s optimum location for a multi-room situation to enhance the evacuation effectiveness by reducing crowd evacuation times. The proposed MPCS-AVO achieves a better execution time of 9.67 s compared to existing techniques like Golden Jackal Optimization (GJO), Social Spider Algorithm (SSA), Sun Flower Optimization (SFO), and AVO.
