High-Power Testing System and Method for Piezoelectric Material Parameters

Piezoelectric material parameters are fundamental to the design of power devices such as transducers. Currently, these parameters are typically measured under low signal conditions (1V), and piezoelectric materials often exhibit nonlinear effects under high-power excitation, resulting in significant changes in material parameters. This work introduces a testing system for piezoelectric material parameters based on the transient pulse method, which facilitates high-power excitation. Combined with an output processing algorithm, this system can measure the resonant and anti-resonant frequencies of piezoelectric materials. By integrating with the equivalent circuit model of piezoelectric materials, further calculations of material parameters are conducted. This characterizes the changes in piezoelectric material parameters under high-power excitation. Accompanied by various temperature control systems and mechanical loading modules, this system allows for the measurement of material parameters under different boundary conditions.
