Reliability Analysis of Kediri Feeder Using Section Technique and Energy Loss Evaluation at PT. PLN Rayon Ampera

Reliability is crucial in power distribution networks because of the rising demand for electricity and the expanding population of users. The purpose of this research is to assess the reliability of the Kediri feeder system at PT. PLN Rayon Ampera, Palembang, by applying the section technique method. SAIFI, SAIDI, and CAIDI are among the reliability indices that are utilized. The SAIFI value was 2.7529 failures/year, SAIDI was 3.6076 hours/year, and CAIDI was 1.3105 hours/failure, according to calculations made using the section technique approach. These values surpass the IEEE standards while still meeting SPLN standards. Furthermore, in 2023, the amount of energy that was not delivered amounted to 110,344.11 kWh, causing PT. PLN suffer economic losses of IDR 159,414,141.90. This study indicates that although SPLN standards regard the Kediri feeder system as reliable, it still requires enhancements to satisfy global requirements. The study additionally points out how crucial improved reliability management is to reducing the negative effects of power outages on the economy.
