A Novel Blockchain-Based Anonymous Mutual Authentication Method for IoT Security

As the proliferation of IoT devices continues to accelerate, ensuring the security of IoT ecosystems and safe-guarding user privacy have become increasingly complex challenges. While blockchain technology offers promising avenues for enhancing privacy protection, factors such as cost, resource constraints, and application-specific limitations pose significant challenges to blockchain-based identity authentication mechanisms. In this paper, we propose a novel Blockchain-based Anonymous Mutual Authentication (BAMA) protocol tailored for IoT environments. BAMA not only supports fundamental security features such as mutual authentication, identity anonymity, and session key agreement, but also ensures unlinkability, perfect forward secrecy, and resilience against multiple attack vectors. Comprehensive evaluations of BAMA's security and efficiency demonstrate the protocol's ability to preserve key confidentiality and maintain methodological integrity, while highlighting its superior performance and distinctiveness in enhancing IoT security.
