Trend Analysis of Teams Using Classifications Related to the Characteristics of the Soccer Game

This study aims to develop an application to analyze data from three tournaments in which men's national teams participate using data published by the Fédération Internationale de Football Association and to identify factors that contribute to the match results of each country. Using exploratory factor analysis, the characteristics of the matches were classified into six factors, and clusters were analyzed based on the results. Consequently, the matches were classified into five clusters, and the characteristics of the matches in each cluster were determined. A web application using Shiny was developed to visualize match trends for each country.
