TCM Control Without Zero-Crossing Detection for Buck Active Power Decoupler

Buck active power decoupler (APD) can suppress DC side second harmonic current of single-phase converter. APD operating in triangular current mode (TCM) can realize zero-voltage switching (ZVS), improving efficiency and power density. However, traditional TCM control relies on modules such as zero-crossing detection and high-speed sampling, which require high-precision hardware and software. For easy implementation, a computation-based TCM control method is proposed in this paper, using low-frequency sampling of voltage and current signals. Furthermore, the stability of the voltage-current double closed-loop system is improved by introducing feedforward. Finally, the proposed control strategy is validated by simulation and experiment.
