Abstract:
To thoroughly evaluate gradient risks for patients with implantable medical devices, it’s crucial to acquire clinically relevant electromagnetic field distributions within the gradient coils. Addressing this concern, this paper introduces specific point constraints (SPC) for gradient coil design based on the target field method, considering clinically relevant situations, and analyzes the magnetic field variability of gradient coils under specific point constraints. The results show that, while ensuring the linear deviation of the gradient in the imaging region, the deviation between the field strength of the specified point and the constraint condition is controlled within 10% from the original 40%. And the results of field distribution variability analysis show the necessity of introducing SPC in the implantable medical devices gradient safety assessment.
