Smart Mining: Integrating Internet Of Things (IoT) For Improved Coal Mine Safety

This paper presents a Coal Mine Safety System designed to monitor environmental conditions in underground mines using IoT technology. The system employs various sensors, including an MQ-2 gas sensor, a DHT11 temperature and II. METHODOLOGY humidity sensor, and a NodeMCU Wi-Fi module, to detect hazardous conditions such as gas leaks, temperature fluctuations, and humidity levels. The data is transmitted to a central server via the IoT platform ThinkSpeak, allowing for real-time monitoring and alerts. This system aims to enhance miner safety providing ^• timely warnings and helping to prevent accidents in coal mines.
