Smart Light Illumination

Street light ensures nocturnal safety for drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists. It plays a pivotal role in fostering a secure and comfortable environment. The malfunctioning of these lights poses a significant risk of road accidents. In response to this, Smart Light Illumination System is proposed, representing a technologically advanced framework for automatic control mechanisms and to implement fault detection protocols for street lamps. Leveraging Light-Dependent Resistor(LDR) sensor, the smart street light system monitors ambient lighting conditions, dynamically regulating street lamps’ ON/OFF status based on real-time weather assessments. In residential areas, a motion sensor is employed to continuously monitor the surroundings for motion and activates street lights when motion is detected, optimizing energy efficiency. On highways, Infrared (IR) sensors detect vehicle presence through infrared radiation monitoring. The sensors interface with the Pico W to dynamically adjust street light brightness and activate lights based on real-time movement detection. The system optimizes energy efficiency by dimming lights during periods of inactivity. A pivotal feature is advanced fault detection capabilities. In the event of a malfunction, the system identifies the fault and generates a notification message. Users will get access to a dedicated website to monitor real-time functionalities and identify any malfunctions promptly.
