IOT and App based Novel Robust Smart Energy Management and Demand side Management of microgrids

This paper examines IoT-based dynamic distributed energy management in smart microgrids. Currently, energy management is performed using Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems. The disadvantage of SCADA systems is that they cannot cope with the intrusion of intermittent sources such as solar, wind, etc. SCADA is not autonomous in nature and cannot handle uncertainty dynamically. Effective communication and control strategies must be integrated into microgrid monitoring to address these challenges and achieve an optimal balance between energy generation, energy storage, and load. This paper proposes a method to implement dynamic energy management of microgrid networks using Arduino and IOT. Arduino is connected to the Internet and emulates real-time situations where data is exchanged remotely using the Internet of Things (IoT). The Arduino-IOT-based smart micro-grid testbed implements the interconnection of two microgrids and implements power management for dynamic adaptation and distributed optimization to continuously provide the best service to consumers across the network, which leads to economic and environmental optimization. Smart grid functions such as demand management, demand response, dynamic pricing, and self-healing are implemented in the microgrid, transforming it into a smart microgrid.
