Analysis of the Corrective Effects of 3D Printed Orthotic Insoles on Mild Compensatory Scoliosis

Spinal scoliosis is the most common three-dimensional spinal deformity in adolescents. In order to explore whether mild compensatory scoliosis can be corrected by 3D printed orthotic insoles, this study collected data from 20 patients with flat feet accompanied by mild scoliosis. By statistically analyzing the correlation between flat feet-related indicators and scoliosis, and following up with 16 patients for 6 months, the results showed that the Cobb angle had a moderate correlation with the decrease in the left navicular bone and the difference in the decrease between the left and right navicular bones (r=0.488, α=0.636), and both had statistical differences (P<0.05). After using 3D printed orthotic insoles, the symptoms of flat feet and compensatory scoliosis were effectively improved in patients. Therefore, 3D printed orthotic insoles can provide an effective personalized solution for clinically correcting mild compensatory scoliosis.
