SVC suppression damping system oscillation control method considering additional line loss correlation

As one of the important devices in flexible AC transmission systems, Static Var Compensators (SVC) can help improve the stable operation of power systems. To further enhance system stability, this paper proposes an SVC suppression damping system oscillation control method that considers additional line loss correlation. Constructing a mathematical model of a power system containing SVC, based on the analysis of the correlation between additional line losses, and introducing additional control elements to enhance system damping and suppress system oscillations as a control method. Introducing additional damping control in SVC can suppress system oscillations while regulating reactive power. Practice has shown that this method has significant advantages in suppressing low-frequency oscillations, improving voltage stability, and enhancing overall system performance, which helps to reduce power grid losses and costs.
