Design And Development Of A Rain Gauge System

Measuring rainfall is an essential part of gathering meteorological data. However, the precision and real-time monitoring capabilities of traditional rain gauges are frequently limited. This study describes the design and development of a rain gauge device that uses innovative parts and technology to monitor precipitation with increased accuracy and efficiency. The device’s ability to accurately detect rainfall and measure its volume is made possible by the integration of Hall effect sensors and rainwater sensors, which guarantees that its primary function is effectively carried out. Utilizing the ESP32 Development Board improves the rain gauge device’s performance and dependability by facilitating smooth data collecting. Furthermore, the utilization of LoRa modules in data transmission facilitates the reliable and long-range transfer of rainfall data, guaranteeing its accessibility and usage in diverse contexts. In addition, the implementation of a LoRaWAN cloud server allowed for the centralized reception of data from various rain gauge devices, facilitating the real-time monitoring and analysis of rainfall trends. These developments helped to offer a reliable and comprehensive system for accurate and effective rainfall measurement.
