A Study on Circuit Optimization and Performance of Memristor-Integrated 3 bit Pipeline DAC

The design and simulation of a pipeline Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC) using memristors in LTSpice represents a significant innovation in the field of mixed-signal circuit design. Memristors, known for their nonvolatile memory properties and nanoscale dimensions, offer a promising alternative to traditional components used in DACs. This article aims to leverage these unique properties to create a high-performance, low-power pipeline DAC. The design began with constructing a 3 bit pipeline architecture, allowing for processing of multiple bits. Each stage of the pipeline incorporated memristor-based circuitry designed to handle the conversion process to achieve high accuracy. Accurate modeling of memristors within LTSpice involved defining their electrical characteristics, such as resistance switching behavior, non-volatility, and the current-voltage (I-V) relationship. On simulating the proposed design, a Full Scale Voltage of 3.88V was achieved.
