Image Segmentation Using YOLOv8 for Display-Field Communication (DFC)

Display Field Communication (DFC) is one of the D2C (Display to Camera) communication technologies. In DFC, digital display devices show images or videos as the transmitter, while the camera acts as the receiver [6]–[11]. The current situation necessitates instance image segmentation technology in DFC. In this paper, we utilized the YOLOv8 model [12] to detect image regions. We conducted transfer learning with custom data suitable for DFC and applied it to real world scenarios.
