An Automatic Design Method of Electric Motor Emulator with Graphical User Interface

This paper proposes an automatic design method for a motor simulator, which consists of resistors and inductors to replace traditional load motors such as dynamometers. This design not only effectively simulates the motor operation under various load conditions but also significantly reduces reliance on complex hardware requirements. The implementation and validation are performed by using MATLAB Simulink simulation. Additionally, through the proposed graphical user interface in MATLAB Simulink, users can quickly obtain parameters of an equivalent circuit for an electric motor emulator. The simulation results demonstrate that performance of the electric motor emulator is very similar to a real motor equipped with a load. The most advantage of the proposed method is very simple implementation, low cost, and easy for testing.
