Design and Experiments of a Non-Resonant Hollow Vibration Generator

The design and characteristic analysis of a novel non-resonant hollow vibration generator are introduced in this paper. The hollow vibration generator is developed based on the stacked ring PZT actuator and compliant mechanism. Finite element analysis is carried out to characterize its static and dynamic performance. A prototyped non-resonant hollow vibration generator is fabricated, followed by a series of experimental investigations to thoroughly assess its performance and characteristics. The results show that the natural frequency of the hollow vibration generator is 6.37 kHz. The vibration amplitude and frequency are proved to be independently tunable to meet different requirements of vibration parameters.
