Research Progress in Micro-Nano Optometry and Ophthalmology

Existing interventions that slow myopia progression has limited the effectiveness and some side effects. Repeated low-level red-light (RLRL), as a new method for the myopia treatment, has become a research topic in the myopia treatment in recent years. To explore the application potential of RLRL therapy for controlling myopia progression, the cellular and molecular mechanisms of RLRL therapy urgently need further investigation. Therefore, in this paper, we review the red-light irradiation intervention and control of myopia progression from the perspective of micro-nano optometry and ophthalmology, aiming to provide a reference for preventing and treating of myopia.
