Summary

This chapter follows the life cycle of a data science project, giving a plain overview of what it's like to work in this field. It starts with formulating a problem: working with stakeholders to identify questions that will move the needle for the business but that are also answerable given technical constraints. The realities of data exploration and wrangling are described, all the way through to executive presentations or live code running in production. Emphasis is placed on the deeply iterative nature of data science, since you never know going into it what the data will tell you.
