Remote Control and Automation of UR3 Robot with IoT and Vision Algorithms

This work investigates the integration of the UR3 robot from Universal Robots and MATLAB using IoT technology. The proposal involves implementing a vision algorithm in MATLAB to detect an operator's arm movements and utilizing a cloud service platform to transmit the instructions remotely to an industrial network that will assign the UR3 robot a predefined routine. Key components for this technological integration include the Siemens S7-1500 PLC, ESP32 and Adafruit microcontrollers, Node-Red software, and the AWS platform. This project demonstrates the effective integration of various technologies and platforms, offering a robust and flexible solution for the remote control and automation of robotic systems.
