Synthesis of Ag nanodendrites via Galvanic replacement and Laser-assisted reduction

Dendritic silver structures were produced via Galvanic replacement and Laser assisted reduction. The dendrites speed formation and growth were determined by electron scanning microscope. Results show an increased structure formation for the laser-assisted process due to chemical activation of Ag ions by UV irradiation. Obtained chemical compound were observed by Raman spectroscopy. As it is shown, Ag nanodendrites tends to react to carbon compound present in environment leaving traces of some carbonate substance on the substrate surface. The present work give an insight of structural evolution and stability of Ag nanodendrites related to the structural characteristics of the substrates used.
