Legal Controls for Telemedicine Services and their Applications in the United Arab Emirates - An Analytical Study

This paper dealt with explaining the mechanism of using information technology means in providing medical services remotely, as it has become an important role in providing medical services due to the time and effort it saves for the doctor and the patient. Therefore, it was necessary to find a legal framework that regulates the practice of remote medical services. By establishing the necessary controls to provide it properly, safely and with high quality. It also dealt with a statement of the parties to remote medical services and the conditions that must be met to practice those services, and their obligations imposed on them by the Emirati legislator in order to ensure that they provide these services in the required manner. The most important remote medical services that can be provided to patients were also discussed, which are: remote diagnosis, consultation. Telemedicine, telemedicine prescription, remote medical monitoring. It became clear to us that remote medical services do not differ from the medical services that are provided traditionally, but their peculiarities lie in the means through which they are carried out. In order to develop remote medical services, it is necessary to conduct a periodic evaluation of the remote health care system used in the country. The state during certain regular periods of time, in order to ensure the quality and safety of the technology used in providing these services, and to ensure that electronic health systems are safe and not vulnerable to penetration and malfunctions that may affect them, in order to reduce their risks.
