Implementation of MERN Stack-based Web Application to Visualize Garbage Collection Status

An advanced initiative is underway to determine and visualize the status of garbage collection in cities using smart garbage trucks equipped with IoT onboard equipment. Smart garbage trucks estimate the status of garbage collection based on the sound information generated when garbage is loaded and compressed, and the results are sent to a cloud server along with the truck’s location information. However, the system has yet to provide a service that enables residents, city officials, and garbage collectors to check the status of garbage collection at each collection point. In this paper, we implement a web application using the MERN stack to check the status of garbage collection in real-time.
