Effects of Human Affection and Human-like Behavior in Short Cat Videos

This study delved into the impact of different features in short cat videos on viewer likability and engagement. We focused on factors like cats displaying human-like behaviors, interactions where people showed affection towards them, and how viewers' personalities and experiences with cats shaped their reactions. By observing 25 participants' physical responses through eye-tracking and GSR, the research revealed that pet owners were particularly drawn to videos in which cats behaved more human-likely. Moreover, introverts and ambiverts showed lower arousal levels when watching videos featuring human affection, indicating a correlation between personality traits and viewers' responses to these videos.
