Study on Road Geometry of Horizontal Curves for Driving Difficulty Index Creation

In order to realize enjoyable and safe driving in various situations, improving drivers' individual skills to adapt to difficult road geometries is necessary. The road geometry is an important factor for the driver to determine driving maneuvers. Therefore, a driving difficulty index for roads could potentially be applied to provide personalized and specific driving feedback. In this paper, we develop a method for creating a curve feature based on the length, curvature, and rate of change of curvature of horizontal curves. We could create a feature value include not only the curvature degree, but also its change.
