Scalable Steering Sub-system for xEV Autonomous Vehicle using Wireless Data Communication

The research study takes advantage of the vast room for improvement of the current automotive industry’s gap in technology. The main objective of this research is to introduce a conceptual design of a scalable, modular and reusable architecture of a steering sub-system for XEV autonomous vehicle, focused on the study of the system behavior using wireless technology as a means of data communication. In order to study the said behavior, the goal is to develop a proof of concept mimicking the system of a 2-wheel drive automotive vehicle’s steering sub-system function, composed of steering controller unit and actuators, consequently extracting data to study the system behavior and identify the average data accuracy of data communication and the reliability of the information exchange or transfer.
