Impedance Modeling of Thermal Power Generator Considering Electromechanical Coupling

Thermal power generators (TPGs) play a significant role in the stability of renewable-integrated power system. In the current impedance modeling and analysis of renewable energy delivery systems, the TPGs and their shaft system models, which are integral components of the system, are often neglected. This paper employs a segmented concentrated four-mass-spring shaft system model to establish an impedance model for TPGs that accounts for the mechanical system of the shaft. The analysis examines the interplay between the electrical and mechanical systems. Furthermore, it analyzes how mechanical disturbances affect the stator's output voltage and current, thereby influencing the unit's impedance.
