Fuzzy Logic Application in Helicopter Turboshaft Engines Automatic Control Systems

This research established the helicopter turboshaft engines fuel consumption automatic control system, focusing on the TV3-117 model, through the application of a P-type fuzzy logic controller. The implementation achieved a 7.65 % decrease in the transient process duration for the fuel consumption variable in comparison to the linear PID controller. Additionally, it enhanced control quality metrics, such as overshoot, steady-state deviation, and transient process time, by 3.73 to 4.89 %. Nevertheless, there are limitations, notably the fuzzy rules and membership functions extensive tuning requirement, which can be labor-intensive and reliant on specific operating conditions.
