Development and Validation of LTE SDR-based Signal Analyzer. Part 2. Experiment Results

The purpose of work is software implementation and experimental testing of an LTE standard signal analyzer using a software-defined radio (SDR) for positioning with the accuracy of cell coverage. The main result is developed for a signal analyzer of the LTE standard in MATLAB, which implements the reception, processing and extraction of the necessary system information blocks, transmitted by base stations of the LTE standard via broadcast channels. The software interface is configured to work with the USRP B210 board. During experimental testing, system information blocks were received and processed from the air, extracting identifiers of operator base stations and then accessing the OpenCellID database to obtain global coordinates. From the analysis of open sources it follows, that this study is the first work, that describes the procedure for analyzing broadcast signals of the LTE standard to determine the location of user SDR device, being not a subscriber of any network, with the accuracy of proximity to the nearest cell in conditions of inaccessibility of global navigation satellite systems.
