Security Implications of Mobile Development Frameworks: Findings from Static Analysis of Android Apps

This paper presents a comprehensive static analysis of 6,165 top Android applications, selected based on rankings from analytics service. The analysis compares security findings across various development frameworks, including Xamarin, Cordova, React Native, Flutter, and Android Native. Using MobSF as the primary tool, the study highlights key vulnerabilities and permissions associated with each framework, providing insights into their security implications. The results demonstrate significant variation in security risks depending on the development framework utilized.
