Reduction of Mutual Influence and Losses in Antenna Matching Unit Coils

Power amplifier matching with antenna is necessary to improve transmitters’ efficiency and output power. Among the problems that arise during the operation of the antenna matching device, we can highlight: mutual influence of inductance coils, the interaction of inductance coils with the shield or case, as a result of which insertion losses appear, and the frequency response of the matching circuit is distorted. These phenomena lead to a decrease in the efficiency of the antenna matching device. The paper discusses the design options for the antenna matching device with solenoidal and toroidal coils, as well as their interaction with the shield from the point of view of improving operational characteristics.
