Concept Exploration of Virtual Humans in Education

A new generation of immersive technologies is transforming education through the use of Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), Mixed Reality (MR), and Extended Reality (XR). Furthermore, Virtual Humans (VHs) offer immersive AR experiences that enhance learning. In addition to providing personalized lessons and facilitating hands-on practice, VH enhances learning with immersive AR experiences. This paper aims to investigate the potential for VH to bridge the gap between digital and physical learning settings, resulting in authentic and emotionally impactful learning experiences. To fully utilize VHs' educational potential, this paper also discusses ongoing research to integrate them into educational contexts, including instructional design, technical implementation, and ethical issues.
