The Science of Underwater Sound: A Tool for Teaching STEM

The Discovery of Sound in the Sea (DOSITS) project contributes to and advances the understanding of underwater sound, including how sound behaves underwater, how marine animals produce and receive sound, and what the potential impacts of underwater sound may be. By synthesizing and making available the results of ocean acoustics research for a diverse audience of stakeholders and the public, people in countries around the word have been introduced to the latest knowledge in the field. DOSITS resources address the fundamental understanding of the physics and biology related to underwater sound, as well as advanced scientific content needed by the decision-making community.
