Applying Machine Learning for Suspected Terrorists Watchlist Filtering

One way to prevent terrorism financing is by applying watchlist filtering for financial transaction. Typically, it is done using a string-matching algorithm. This approach has drawbacks. If it is done on information with variation, such as name, it can cause many false negatives depending on the number of possible variations. This research aims to investigate whether applying machine learning algorithm on watchlist filtering can improve the overall process.
