Proposing First-Last Mile (FLM) Pattern of Trans Banyumas Passengers to Support Mobility as a Service (MaaS) Initiatives in Smart Mobility

According to data from the Indonesian National Police, the number of motorized vehicles in Indonesia in 2021 grew by 4.53% per year. The government has made efforts with alternative integrated public transportation, such as Trans Banyumas. Implementing Trans Banyumas as an urban public transportation service is a big step for Banyumas Regency in achieving a smart city. One of the essential dimensions in implementing smart cities is smart mobility. However, in applying smart mobility, gaps still need to be addressed, such as bus stop accessibility. It is shown that Trans Banyumas passengers reach the bus stop far away, and there is a lack of alternative transportation to connect their first and last-mile destinations. This research aims to map the first- and last-mile (FLM) patterns of Trans Banyumas passengers to develop mobility as a service MaaS initiative. The method used was quantitative, and the respondents were 300 Trans Banyumas passengers. Data was analyzed using ANOV A to find the relationship between demography, MaaS, and FLM. The results showed that demographics affect mobility as a service (MaaS), and FLM affects MaaS. There is a need to improve supporting facilities such as the availability of parking lots, sidewalk facilities, and pedestrian crossings, as well as updating the existing application and single payment gateway.
