Performance Study of 72V PMBLDC Motor in Light Electric Vehicles

Electric vehicles (EVs) represent a significant transition in the automotive industry, providing a cleaner, more sustainable source of transportation than traditional internal combustion engine cars. Over the last several decades, technological developments and rising environmental concerns have accelerated the development and use of electric cars across the world. This introduction provides an overview of electric vehicles, including their history, technology, benefits, problems, and future prospects. Light electric vehicles use a variety of driving technologies for propulsion. Induction motors, permanent magnet synchronous motors, brushless DC motors, and permanent magnet brushless DC motors are among the most often used types of drives. Among the available drives, PMSM and PMBLDC motors are ideally suited for light electric vehicle applications because to their high efficiency, higher torque density, precise control, smooth and silent operation. The paper includes the theoretical analysis of key performance metrics of 72V PMBLDC motor such as torque, speed and efficiency under various operating situations. The motor's behavior is modelled and examined using MATLAB simulation tool for real-world driving scenarios. This study contributes to the development of more efficient and sustainable electric propulsion systems, hence advancing green transportation technology.
