Should We Use It or Not? Insights Into Utilizing Interactive Content in AI-Teaching MOOCs Platform

In the emerging era where artificial intelligence (AI) has become a current trend, the use of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) as a platform to provide AI education to the masses has been significantly important. Therefore, instructors always try to improve the delivery of the course to make it more approachable for learners. This research provides insight into a particular MOOC dedicated to delivering courses on AI-related topics based on how instructors integrate interactive content as a part of its course delivery.Our study investigates the different strategies employed by instructors, taking into account the diversity of AI topics, the different difficulty levels, and the courses’ lengths. By comparing these strategies with student engagement levels, we aim to identify effective methods for utilizing interactive content to improve the learning experience. We explore how different types of interactive content, ranging from multichoice questions and drag-and-drop questions to interactive videos, can impact student participation.This research finding provides valuable insights for educators and course designers. Instructors can tailor their courses by understanding which strategies are most effective for better engagement. Eventually, our research demonstrates that interactive content that is well-embedded into the course’s overall design can enhance the educational experience in MOOCs, thus making AI education more accessible and engaging for its learners.
