Water pH Testing in IoT-Based Household Wastewater Management Installations Using Electrocoagulation Method

Wastewater management installation system nowadays is very crucial to safe the environment and fulfill the needed of clean water in our civilization. A staggering 70% of households consume water contaminated with E.coli highlighting the need for improved water safety plans and better water quality surveillance. One of the method for wastewater management system is electrocoagulation. Electrocoagulation is the process of agglomerating and settling fine particles in water using electrical energy. This prototype integrated with IOT system so that can monitoring the value of water pH real-time and to validating the result value from pH sensor (IOT system) it will be compared with the measurement value from pH meter. This comparative result shown the error percentage of the pH sensor. This research using two different wastewater: dishwasher water and swimming pool waste water. Based on the research the value of pH swimming pool waste water before filtered with electrocoagulation is 9.12 and after filtered process pH water become 7.01 based on pH meter measurement and 7.34 based on pH sensor so that the error percentage is 4.7% . The research of dishwasher wastes water the pH of dishwasher waste water before filtered with electrocoagulation is 9.05 and after filtered pH water become 8.27 based on pH meter and 8.35 based on sensor pH measurement, so the error percentage is 0.96%. From the result of pH wastewater that filtering with electrocoagulation have a better pH value compared to not filtered wastewater.
